In our in-house rope workshop, we make up sling ropes according to your requirements. Choose from different rope ends, crimps and rope diameters.
Wire ropes used as slings must comply with the DIN EN 13414-1: 2020-03 series of standards "Steel wire rope slings - Safety".
In contrast to the requirements of DIN EN 13414-1: 2009-02, DGUV Rule 109-005, wire ropes with diameters from 4 mm can also be used as slings in event technology. The round strand ropes used for this purpose must comply with DIN EN 12385-4.
Our wire ropes are marked on an aluminium disc that is threaded onto the rope (manufacturer's specification, load-bearing capacity as a sling, length, CE marking, DGUV V 17/18, DGUV Information 215-313) or, from 8 mm, the marking is on the aluminium ferrule, optionally on an aluminium disc.
Galvanised and black lifting ropes can be used for indoor applications.
Galvanised sling ropes are suitable for outdoor use.
Black wire rope slings for outdoor use can be manufactured on request.
The operating temperature for wire ropes is between -60°C and +100°C
Load-bearing capacities, in single strand or double strand with inclination angles, can be found in our catalogue. An angle of inclination greater than 60° is generally not permitted.
Bending reduces the load-bearing capacity of the wire rope. The radius of the bend must be larger than the rope diameter. To prevent kinks, you can use our fiRSTstage edge protectors.
Wire ropes firmly coated with plastic must not be used.
Criteria for the discard maturity of wire parts as slings are e.g:
Visible wire breaks
kinks
crushing
Corrosion damage
Damage to the rope end connection
Protruding or damaged fibre core
